Hilary Louvar is originally from Emporia KS and moved to the Wichita area in 2007. She’s always been an artist but only recently discovered her love for painting on skin. After she played around with face painting on her own six kids (yes–six kids!) for a few months she decided to start face painting for friends. Eventually it turned into a dream job and she decided to make it a business. Her inspiration really came from her cousin MJ of Sister Act Face Paint from the Kansas City area. This isn’t just a job for Hilary—it’s a passion. She has said on many occasions that face painting is her therapy. She has an ability to make kids (and adults) feel instantly at ease in her chair while she paints them. She has her own unique style of face painting and enjoys coming up with new ideas to suit special events. She spends her free time being a soccer mom, baking and testing out new recipies on her family, cheering on WSU where two of her children attend, helping with volunteer work at her church, playing with her two malti-poo’s, and travelling with her husband. Hilary feels blessed for each and every face she has the opportunity to paint.
Lauren Knapp grew up in Chattanooga, TN. She then lived in Victoria, TX before settling down in Orlando, FL, where she discovered her love of face painting while working at local area theme parks. Lauren then spent a year in Louisiana (and a year off from face painting) before moving to Wichita. Having always been an artist, she is so excited that she gets to share her love of art with others through her work. When it comes to face painting, she enjoys overcoming new design challenges and creating fresh, original designs to bring a smile to each face. In her spare time, she can be found hanging out with her husband, spoiling her four cats, writing and illustrating her own children’s books, exploring new places, and shopping for more and more art supplies.
Meet Shannon. Born and raised right here in Kansas, Shannon graduated from Goddard public schools and is currently attending Eric Fisher’s cosmetology program. She’s always been extremely interested in art and as she grew up that interest turned into a love. Her hobbies include long walks down Hobby Lobby aisles, binge watching Netflix with her two cats, and doodling all over everything she can get her hands on. Shannon is going on her second year working for Just Face It and loves every second of it! Shannon says face painting is such a satisfying job because of all the excitement it brings. “It’s not everyday that a child (or child at heart) gets to experience this colorful world so the smiles and joy that comes with it is wonderful”! Her favorite part about being a face painting artist is the challenge of creating what the customer imagines, or hopefully something better. She tends to keep my phone handy while working incase she gets that crazy request that she’s never heard of–you may catch her doing a quick Google search and brain storming to see if she can make your idea a reality!
Brittany Larson, a local Wichitan, has been a natural artist her whole life. Brittany is currently attending Wichita State University and majoring in athletic training (although she couldn’t get by without filling her schedule with art classes, as well). She is passionate about painting and drawing mostly. Her talents are many, in fact, she recently painted a giant mural in Colorado! Brittany is very excited to be working with Just Face It and to continue to share her love for painting with the community. In Brittany’s spare time (when she’s not galavanting around the country painting murals) you can find her playing with her dog, reading books, traveling, and coloring.
